To mark International Women’s Day Tomorrow’s Women Wirral (TWW) took part in a massive, cross-agency event. TWW asked local women to join them in being ‘bold’, as per the global hashtag for the day which was #BeBoldForChange.
TWW celebrate International Women’s Day every year, but this year’s event was their biggest yet with over 250 local women attending and stalls and input from over 20 local organisations! The theme of the event was ‘Be Bold for Change’ and included inspirational speakers, stalls & activities! TWW offered ‘Foods from around the world’ in a nod to international sisters across the globe! There was a performance from the fantastic Empowering Voices Choir! TWW also asked women to ‘Conquer the Globe’ by adding their inspirational quotes, or bold moments and comments to their interactive hanging globe. Throughout the day activities and stalls were available including Henna, Origami, Indian Head Massage, Reiki, Nails, Angel Cards & much more!
Wirral Radio interviewed TWW in the lead up to International Women’s Day and local blogger and broadcast journalist Elle Gregory also covered the event for local online media outlet Purple Revolver, this can be viewed here.
TWW also held their AGM at this event. 10 years on since Baroness Corston’s ground breaking Report on women’s safety in the criminal justice system TWW also celebrated the fact that their centre continues to thrive!
