Working Chance’s office at HMP Downview is proving a great success, with fantastic feedback from the resettlement team and the governor about their impact in the prison. Working Chance’s model is proving to be effective at getting candidates work-ready, as is being shown by the speed at which their two placements so far have been made – both within six weeks of release.
They are just starting their second run of the full training programme, and have nine very promising candidates coming out in the next two months who will be attending.
Over the next six weeks, the two Employment Advisors will run workshops on confidence building, CVs, interviews, cover letters and application forms, and disclosure. This will be followed by a ‘meet the team’ event with some of their Recruitment Consultants, and Working Chance registrations.
