Providing a holistic, non medical approach to women’s health and wellbeing, they offer a range of services including:-
- A range of counselling therapies
- Self development and wellbeing groups and courses
- Support services for women with multiple and complex needs
- A range of Complimentary Therapies, low cost and full cost options available
- Support for young women
The Evolve Project applies the Well Women Centre principles and works alongside the their other services to provide women who are involved in the Criminal Justice System with a range of tailor made practical and emotional support. Working in partnership with co-located Offender Managers from West Yorkshire Community Rehabilitation Company; Evolve staff and volunteers offer one to one sessions and group work programmes for women on community orders. This model enables women to address the issues that may have resulted in their offending and offers support with issues such as benefits and debt, housing, substance misuse, and families and relationships to enable them to make better life choices and decisions.
Partnership work for women offenders
Working in partnership with Wakefield Liaison and Diversion Team, Well Women Centre have a seconded worker for one day per week to support women who have come via the Police Conditional Caution route. The worker offers appointments and assessments that address some of the complex issues experienced by women offenders and diverts them away from the Courts, Probation and the Criminal Justice System.
